Authenticity and Your Brand: 5 Tips to Keep Your Brand Authentic

So, you’ve narrowed down what your passion is and  started the business.  You bought the domain name and grabbed the Instagram handle. You’re posting and posting but getting no love. Alternatively, you may be selling/ offering services and not receiving any hits. Why? It may be that you aren’t sharing  an authentic version of yourself or showing  authenticity in your brand.

I have 5 tips that will help you get and stay authentic online to help you build an audience and begin to create brand loyalty.

  1. KNOW YOURSELF

Before trying to sell or deliver your service you have to be clear on what you stand for and you want to offer. This means creating a vision/mission statement, a manifesto or an amazing about section.  Do not leave out  your social media bio’s, that may be the first time people see you.  Get a clear vision for yourself, and then take it to the social media streets.

2. UNDERSTAND YOUR MISSION and GOALS

Once you have a clear vision and have created the mission statement to match- it has to be consistent across platforms, in the service you offer or the product you’re selling.  Being authentic means showing your true self at all times. Having a real understanding of your mission and goals helps the consumer trust you and your skills.

3. SHARE a LITTLE OF  YOU

As consumers we all want a peek into the real life  behind the companies we buy from, the celebrities we like and the brands we are loyal to. Share some of your self with your audience.  Some questions to consider:  What brought you to this passion? Why are you starting the business? Your likes/dislikes? Family dynamic ( mom, wife, etc.) Sharing a little bit of you will allow your audience to see you behind the brand.

4. BE CONSISTENT

New year, new you? Ok, but in business consumers want the same you, service, product and brand. They like consistency. The same gos for your social media presence, email newsletters and consumer engagement. Be consistent to build brand trust.  Consistency is a key to authenticity.

5. DO YOU

The most authentic version of yourself is the one you choose it is. So be sure to be true to yourself, as well as what your mission and goals are in business.  Share who you are with your consumers and do not be afraid to express yourself. It’s  your passion that is building your brand- shine bright!

BE YOU BOO,
